SWG top again

Stadtwerke Gießen once again received the TOP local supplier award in the electricity, gas and heat sectors in 2026.

Once again, the energy consumer portal awarded Stadtwerke Gießen (SWG) the TOP local supplier seal. In the electricity and gas sectors, the company secured the top spot for the 15th time in a row. In the heating sector, SWG is the best supplier in the region for the eighth time.

To be allowed to call itself a TOP local supplier, an energy supply company must be convincing in numerous respects and stand out from the competition. Of course, price is an important criterion, but it is by no means the only one. This is because the annual comparison carried out by the energy consumer portal also takes into account the services that energy supply companies provide for the region, the people who live here and, last but not least, for the environment. Consequently, criteria such as security of supply, sustainability, quality of service and advice, ecological, regional and social commitment as well as future issues play important roles. "In view of geopolitical developments, these aspects are increasingly coming into focus," says Andreas Hergaß, Commercial Director of SWG, adding: "The TOP Local Supplier award recognises our work in all its facets. We are therefore proud that it has been awarded to us so many times in a row."

The fact that SWG has maintained its position as a TOP local supplier for so many years is no coincidence, but the result of hard and, above all, targeted work. "Obviously, our strategy is bearing fruit. Which encourages us to continue along the path we have chosen," explains Matthias Funk, Chief Technical Officer of SWG.
