Giessen. As every year, the SWG city buses operate a special timetable on Christmas Eve, New Year's Eve and New Year's Day: The New Year's Eve shuttle is also available again as a safe alternative to travelling by car at night. The Giessen city buses will continue to run on the regular Saturday timetable on Christmas Eve until around 17:00. For the two Christmas holidays, the usual timetable for Sundays and public holidays applies.
On New Year's Eve, the city buses will run according to the Saturday timetable from the start of operations until around 11.30 pm and then return to the SWG depot. On the night from New Year's Eve to New Year's Day, the New Year's Eve shuttle service takes over: between 01:00 and 04:00, three lines run every hour within the Giessen city area and the municipality of Heuchelheim. Below is an overview of the shuttle bus stops.

New Year's Eve shuttle 1:
Berliner Platz, Schiffenberger Weg, Sandkauter Weg, Ohlebergsweg, Aulweg, Frankfurter Straße, Klein-Linden, Allendorf, Lützellinden and again via Klein-Linden, Frankfurter Straße, Berliner Platz.

New Year's Eve shuttle 2:
Berliner Platz, Ostanlage, Marburger Straße, Wiesecker Weg, Wieseck, Philosophenwald, Grünberger Straße, Rödgener Straße, Rödgen, Licher Straße, Berliner Platz.

New Year's Eve shuttle 3:
Berliner Platz via Eichgärtenviertel, Weststadt, Heuchelheim, Kinzenbach, Berliner Platz.

Night bus routes
Important information for users of the Giessen night bus routes: The "Saturn" and "Venus" lines are cancelled in the period from 24 December to 1 January.

Passengers can obtain up-to-date information on all special timetables by calling the SWG service number 0641 708-1400 and at the mobility centre in Schulstraße 7. Opening hours: Monday to Friday from 09:00 to 18:00 and Saturdays from 09:00 to 14:00.
