After a two-year coronavirus break, the Giessen Summer of Culture is taking place again for the first time. SWG is supporting this unique event as a premium partner and providing the necessary energy.

Musical diversity against a special backdrop - that's what the Giessen Summer of Culture stands for. After a two-year break due to coronavirus, the event, which is now well-known far beyond the borders of Hesse, can finally take place again. "The past few years have been particularly challenging for the culture and event industry," says Dennis Bahl, Managing Director of Konzertbüro Bahl GmbH. "That's why we are happy and grateful that we can finally offer people here in the region 16 days of great cultural events and unforgettable moments again. Our entire Kultursommer team has done a great job here." There is also plenty on offer in terms of gastronomy. "We always try to offer a broad, but above all regional variety at a high level," explains Markus Urich, 2nd Managing Director of the concert office. "The audience can look forward to a summery flair at Schiffenberg Monastery".

And, of course, to the numerous top acts that the organisers have been able to attract. From German pop with Adel Tawil and country rock with The BossHoss to Spanish feel-good music with Alvaro Soler or dance legend DJ BoBo - there is something for almost every musical taste.

SWG as a premium partner

As in 2018, Stadtwerke Gießen (SWG) is supporting the event series. Ulli Boos, company spokesman for SWG, puts it like this: "The Kultursommer is a real flagship event for Giessen. That's why there was no question for us that we would become a premium partner." SWG not only supports the events financially. They also supply the electricity for the extraordinary event. "We are particularly pleased with SWG's support here," emphasises Markus Urich. This is because the open-air concerts take place on Giessen's local mountain - the Schiffenberg. In front of the historic walls of the monastery, the concert professionals will set up a modern stage complete with a powerful sound and lighting system. The location provides a very special flair. However, the venue poses particular challenges for the Kultursommer team when it comes to the power supply. This is because the power lines in the historic building are naturally not designed to operate modern event technology. "We are very happy that SWG is also supporting us in this respect," summarises Dennis Bahl.
