With the start of the Landesgartenschau (LAGA), hundreds of free parking spaces on the exhibition grounds and on Ringallee have been removed. In future, anyone parking their car there will have to pay three euros per day. This fee is paid at a specially set up pay station. "Contrary to popular belief, the car park directly in front of the swimming pool building does not belong to the Ringallee swimming centre, but is an area belonging to the city of Giessen," explains Ina Weller, company spokesperson for Stadtwerke Giessen.
In addition to the numerous day car parks for visitors to the State Garden Show, there are also around 20 short-term parking spaces available in this area - adjacent to the outdoor pool operations building. Those who park here do not pay when they leave the site, but have to buy their ticket from one of the ticket machines set up. "As we want to continue to offer our bathers free parking, we will refund this fee. All they have to do is present the ticket at the ticket office of the outdoor or indoor pool," explains Ina Weller and points out due to misunderstandings: "This regulation only applies to the 20 or so short-term car parks and only on presentation of the purchased ticket. We pay the corresponding amount at the pool ticket office, but not the fee of three euros for one of the day car parks."
