From now on, sauna fans can once again use the full range of facilities at the Ringallee bathing centre - including the renovated outdoor area of the Harmonielandschaft.
On Monday 9 December, Stadtwerke Giessen (SWG) announced some good news for sauna lovers from Giessen and the surrounding area. Following the fire at the end of July and the subsequent extensive renovation work, SWG reopened the restored outdoor area of the Harmonielandschaft in the Ringallee bathing centre. "We've done our best to make it work this year," said Uwe Volbrecht from Stadtwerke Gießen's pool management department.
On the night of 25 July, a fire caused extensive damage to the sauna complex. The police and fire brigade have not yet been able to clarify the exact cause of the fire. They have now ruled out an initially suspected technical defect.
Enjoy the view
The completely renovated panorama sauna can now accommodate up to forty people - a special gas heater creates a special atmosphere. "We have succeeded in making the sauna even more attractive for guests," emphasised Uwe Volbrecht. The special highlight: a panoramic window around four metres wide, through which visitors can look out over the grounds of the State Garden Show. Since the opening on Monday, SWG has once again been offering all the special infusions. The sanarium - which was particularly affected by the fire gases and has therefore also been renovated - can also be used as usual since 9 December.
Special offer at Christmas time
The price for visiting the entire sauna area remains the same as before the fire, 12.50 euros. This also applies to the other special treatments that visitors can book. During the coming weeks, SWG will also be offering a special Christmas programme. Sauna fans can obtain all the information they need on the service numbers 0641 708-1443 and 0641 708-1411.
