SWG invites you to the first career day
On 13 September, SWG is holding its first career day on the SWG site in Lahnstraße.
The secure supply of energy and water, including associated services, reliable local transport and the operation of swimming pools - Stadtwerke Gießen (SWG) fulfils a central social mission. Working at SWG therefore means pursuing a profession that is both responsible and meaningful. What's more, the activities at SWG are extremely varied and remain exciting throughout your working life.
Interested parties can find out which different professions are in demand at SWG at the first Careers Day on 13 September 2025. SWG will be welcoming visitors between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. to give them a comprehensive picture of SWG as an employer. "Our offer is literally aimed at anyone who can imagine joining our team - from young people looking for an apprenticeship to students interested in an internship, as well as career starters and experienced specialists who want to reorient themselves professionally," summarises Nadine Luthardt, who is responsible for personnel recruitment at SWG.
Get to know SWG
The careers day takes place on the company premises at Lahnstraße 31 - if the weather is favourable, mainly in the courtyard. At the recruitment stand, for example, employees from the HR department will be looking forward to answering visitors' questions and discussing the various job options at SWG. There will also be presentations at 12 noon and 2 p.m. describing the various job profiles and positions at SWG. "The Careers Day is the ideal opportunity for us to talk to people who are interested in shaping the future with us. We are looking for employees who are not just looking for a job, but a task with meaning. People who want to strengthen our region, take on responsibility and experience that it's not just the work that counts with us, but that people are at the centre of everything we do," explains Isabel Manssor, Head of Human Resources at SWG, adding: "I'm looking forward to meeting lots of people and having exciting conversations."
One focus of the Careers Day is on the topic of training. In addition to the designated stand, those responsible have also organised guided tours of the SWG training centre. They start at 11.30 a.m., 1 p.m. and 2.30 p.m. and give a good insight into what awaits young people who decide to train in the industrial sector. "At the various workstations, our trainees will demonstrate the typical tasks they perform in order to learn the manual skills required for their profession. And the trainers explain what makes this workshop so special," announces Vanessa Lischke, responsible for training and staff recruitment at SWG.
Colourful supporting programme
Of course, SWG will also be providing some entertainment. The Giessen 46ers will be at the start with their basketball hoop, TSV Klein-Linden will be setting up a goal wall, there will be small prizes to be won at the SWG wheel of fortune and the photo box will be taking funny pictures for the family album. Last but not least, there will be sausages, waffles, ice cream and various drinks at family-friendly prices.
