Stadtwerke Gießen is focussing on a healthy and therefore efficient workforce. This was the message behind the Health Day organised by SWG for the first time at the end of April. Stadtwerke employees took advantage of various offers such as health checks and advice on topics such as nutrition and exercise. The SWG sports group was also present: with the support of Stadtwerke, employees organise various activities, currently including a "sporty lunch break" for physical balance.
The Health Day marks the start of the establishment of a permanent company health management programme. By setting up this tool, Stadtwerke Gießen is responding to demographic change, which also means that more and more people are having to work longer and longer. As a sustainable utility company, SWG therefore sees the health and well-being of its employees as key factors for its own future competitiveness.
