Which lamps are suitable for which purpose in the household? How much energy does an LED lamp save? And is it worth replacing all conventional light sources with LEDs? Astrid Weixler, energy consultant at Stadtwerke Gießen (SWG), answered these and other questions in her presentation on 23 June at the Biebertal community centre in Rodheim-Bieber. Her key message: "If you follow a few simple rules and convert your lighting to energy-efficient technologies, you can noticeably reduce electricity consumption in your own four walls and save money in the long term."
The interested visitors listened to the SWG energy expert's explanations and took numerous insights home with them. These came not only from the informative presentation, but also from the discussions that Astrid Weixler had with the guests after her talk.
Those who were unable to attend the presentation on Tuesday will have another chance in December. An energy specialist from Stadtwerke Gießen will then give the same talk at the SWG customer centre. SWG will announce the exact date in good time.
And all those who don't want to wait that long for the useful information in the lecture can simply drop by the SWG customer centre on Marktplatz. Here, the Stadtwerke Gießen energy advice team will explain everything you need to know about "Efficient lighting" during daily opening hours. The energy specialists also have an LED lamp case here, which they can use to demonstrate the brightness and, above all, the light colour of the current LED lamps. This makes it easy to determine which lamp is suitable for which application.
SWG customer centre opening hours: Monday to Friday 9 am to 6 pm, Saturday 9 am to 2 pm.
