Every day, the girls and boys at the Finkenweg daycare centre in Wettenberg Krofdorf-Gleiberg prove just how much they enjoy playing and romping around outdoors. "Our kids can hardly wait to finally get outside - even if the weather isn't on the sunny side," says daycare centre manager Silke Eyring from her daily experience. And she is certain: "Once our large climbing frame is in place, the little ones will certainly be even less patient." Those responsible at the centre have been planning to buy new play equipment for the outdoor area for some time now. An enormous investment in which Stadtwerke Gießen (SWG) is supporting the daycare centre. On Wednesday 20 March, SWG donated 1000 euros towards the purchase of the modern climbing frame with slide. Silke Eyring accepted the cheque from Ingo Klinker and Jens Dreiwurst, both from the Networks, Energy and Water department. The Stadtwerke employees know the daycare centre very well, as their daughters, aged three and five, attend the daycare centre. Ingo Klinker's wife is also involved in the centre's parents' council.
"The Finkenweg daycare centre attaches great importance to offering the little ones plenty of variety and exercise in the fresh air. That's why we've been talking about a climbing frame for some time, and we knew about it," explains Jens Dreiwurst. "During a conversation about our daughters and the daycare centre, we had the idea of helping financially with the purchase of the play equipment and suggesting support as one of 75 good deeds," Ingo Klinker continues. In its anniversary year, SWG is involved in these 75 good deeds throughout the region, helping associations, public institutions and social projects with donations and the personal commitment of its employees.
