SWG and the Mittelhessen Cup are extending their successful partnership for another three years.

Keeping fit by running in your free time is still very popular. Here in Central Hessen, however, many people don't just do the sport because of its positive effects on their health. They also like to compete. The Mittelhessen Cup offers the ideal setting for this. Stadtwerke Gießen will continue to be involved as a sponsor to ensure that the events remain as attractive in the coming years and continue to attract runners from further afield to the region. "The running series has established itself as a permanent fixture in the regional scene, and the collaboration in recent years has always been highly professional. It is therefore a matter of course for us to continue supporting the Mittelhessen Cup over the next three years," says Ulli Boos, company spokesperson for SWG, explaining the continuation of the collaboration, which has been in place since 2016.

Twelve clubs, one unique project

The Central Hesse Cup is organised by twelve clubs from the Central Hesse region: from Wetzlar to Laubach and from Pohlheim to Staufenberg. They organise the various running events. In order to professionalise the organisation, the participating clubs founded the Mittelhessen-Cup GbR back in 2016. Its honorary managing director, Sven Schnitker, not only takes care of commercial, legal and overarching organisational issues, but also acts as a moderator at the races. The fact that SWG continues to support the Mittelhessen Cup makes his work much easier: "A partner like SWG provides a great deal of security and helps us to make every event an all-round success," he says, expressing his delight.

In fact, there is always a great atmosphere before, during and after the individual competitions, in which runners of all ages and abilities take part. Because everything is just right - from the professional timekeeping to the expert and empathetic moderation and the catering with home-baked goods to the SWG archway where the races start or through which the athletes sprint to the finish line. This special combination of professional organisation and family atmosphere is what makes the Mittelhessen Cup so attractive. And not just for the athletes, but also for people who come to watch and eat a piece of delicious cake. "The Mittelhessen Cup is a flagship event for the region. We are happy to play our part in ensuring that this unique running series continues to develop so positively," adds Ulli Boos.
