From next Monday, Line 1 will run six times an hour between Berliner Platz and Sophie-Scholl-Schule from 15:30 to 19:00 - and then every quarter of an hour from 19:00 to 00:00. In contrast to the express bus, which is now being cancelled, the additional coaches will stop at all stops.

Stadtwerke Gießen (SWG) will be extending the timetable for Line 1 when school starts on Monday, 7 September. SWG had already announced this before the summer holidays. In future, passengers will be able to use two additional connections per hour between the Berliner Platz and Sophie-Scholl-Schule stops - from 15:30 to 00:00 on weekdays. Due to the changed departure times, Line 1 will also run every 15 minutes from Berliner Platz in the direction of Sophie-Scholl-Schule from Monday to Friday in the evening.
In contrast to the previously used express bus, the coaches will stop at all stations on this section of the route. In addition, the extended capacity offer will be available for two hours longer than before; the express bus was only in operation until 22:00 from Monday to Friday.

"This additional service, which we are launching in coordination with the city of Giessen, should provide noticeable relief, as passengers will be distributed more evenly across the vehicles used," explains Anne Müller-Kreutz, Head of Local Transport Services at SWG. The city council will continue to provide funding for the additional services in the future.

Passengers can obtain information on current timetable changes and roadworks by calling the SWG service number 0641 708-1400, on the Internet at <link verkehr.html _blank>www.stadtwerke-giessen.de/verkehr</link> or directly from the mobility centre in the customer centre on Marktplatz.
