The Ringallee outdoor pool in Giessen opened for the last time this year on Sunday, 7 September. The outdoor pools in Lützellinden and Kleinlinden closed their doors a week earlier.
The Ringallee outdoor pool was once again very popular during the 2008 outdoor pool season. From May to August, a total of 73,359 visitors came to the outdoor pool on 110 opening days. The busiest month was July with 34,626 visitors. Compared to 2007, the number of visitors increased by a total of 13,107.
From the point of view of Stadtwerke, the 2008 outdoor pool season was a very positive one. However, a record summer with visitor numbers like 2006 did not materialise this year. Nevertheless, despite an average summer, SWG recorded more bathers in all outdoor pools than in the previous year.
Swimmers who want to swim their lengths can now switch to the Ringallee indoor pool or the Westbad. More information about opening times can be found on the Internet at www.stadtwerke-giessen.de.
