The stars of the Bundesliga will be preparing for the next season in Austria, Italy or Switzerland in the coming weeks. 80 young stars of tomorrow are currently emulating their big idols at the Junior Football Academy. This year, the 6 to 15-year-olds are once again training together with experienced coaches at the sports ground in Pohlheim-Garbenteich at the multi-day football camp, which is supported by Stadtwerke Giessen (SWG). On Monday 16 July, the heads of the football academy Karl-Otto Mank and Thorsten Buß welcomed the young footballers together with Stephanie Orlik from Stadtwerke Giessen's marketing service.
Due to popular demand, two five-day training camps will be held in 2012 - as in 2011. From 16 to 20 July and from 23 to 27 July, the young footballers will learn new dribbling techniques, improve their coordination and work on their shooting. The qualified, licensed coaches have prepared a special age-appropriate programme for budding goalkeepers. And for all young footballers, they ensure that there is plenty of fun during the daily training sessions from 10 am to 3 pm. The young athletes can prove what they have learnt in games and competitions. At the end of the five-day training camp, they receive a certificate and a gift as a memento and take away a wealth of experience that brings them a little closer to their idols in terms of ability.
