Giessen. On Tuesday, 20 March, passengers in Giessen should once again be prepared for all city bus routes to be suspended for the entire day. "There are signs that the trade union ver.di is calling another strike. This would also affect our subsidiary MIT.BUS," explains Anne Müller-Kreutz, Head of Local Transport Services at Stadtwerke Gießen (SWG). She points out: "Anyone who relies on the bus should plan for cancellations and look for an alternative in good time." MIT.BUS and SWG advise all passengers to find out about the possible strike on Monday, 19 March on the radio, on the Internet, in the newspaper or by calling the Stadtwerke Gießen service number on 0180 22 11 100.

Negotiations on wages and salaries

Over the past few weeks, Ver.di has already called on public sector employees and bus drivers employed by private Hessian companies to strike several times. The union is negotiating with the state association of Hessian bus companies (LHO) about bus drivers' wages and is also demanding higher pay for all public sector employees - but so far without any results.

Information on bus service cancellations

Passengers can obtain up-to-date information on the cancellations at the SWG subsidiary MIT.BUS by calling the service number 0180 22 11 100, on the Internet at www.stadtwerke-giessen.de or at the mobility centre in Schulstraße 7. Opening hours: Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
