On the first weekend in June, the two district outdoor pools open their gates to bathers.
Giessen. The outdoor pool season in the Kleinlinden and Lützellinden district pools begins next Sunday, 4 June 2023. The opening times will remain the same: As last year, the two Stadtwerke Gießen (SWG) pools will open their doors at 11 a.m., closing time is at 7 p.m. and the last admission is one hour earlier. "During the summer holidays, we open at 10 a.m. as usual," adds Uwe Volbrecht, head of the Giessen pools.
SWG is keeping the prices for multiple tickets and season tickets at the same level as last year: a five-person ticket for adults costs 14.40 euros, while the discounted version is available for 9.60 euros. A season ticket for adults costs 64 euros or 42.60 euros for concessions and the family season ticket costs 128 euros. Only the price for a single ticket increases to 3.20 euros. Admission is free for children up to the age of 5 as well as for students of Justus Liebig University, the Technical University of Central Hessen and the Theological University: they can enter free of charge on presentation of their student ID. "We are looking forward to a hopefully sunny and warm season - without any restrictions," emphasises Uwe Volbrecht.
Solar thermal energy in Lützellinden
SWG continuously invests in maintaining and modernising its pools: this season, for example, the company has installed a system for the thermal use of solar energy and a buffer storage tank at the Lützellinden outdoor pool. "A practical innovation, thanks to which we can offer shower water heated by the power of the sun even when the sky is cloudy," says a delighted Uwe Volbrecht.
Mini triathlon in Kleinlinden
The mini triathlon will take place in the Kleinlinden outdoor pool on 8 July in cooperation with TSV Kleinlinden. "We are once again expecting numerous guests to take part in our popular sporting competition," explains Uwe Volbrecht.
