SWG Shop sales campaign

Last Saturday, 9 August, eight trainees from Stadtwerke Gießen organised an information day on the subject of training.

From 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., passers-by in Seltersweg had the chance to find out more and get advice from the trainees. The trainees put their skills to the test: they were on hand to answer questions and describe their training experiences.

Trainees were not only out and about behind the information desk, but also in the pedestrian zone, talking to young and old about their activities.

In addition to information about apprenticeships as industrial clerks and electronics technicians for industrial engineering, interested parties were also able to get advice about internships at Stadtwerke Gießen.

The trainees also took the opportunity to present their "SWG Shop" on Seltersweg. The "SWG Shop" is a project work of the commercial trainees at Stadtwerke. In the "SWG Shop", the trainees are responsible for all activities such as accounting, materials management, marketing and sales. There they develop new product ideas, introduce them, stock them and sell them. The trainees gain independence through project work,

a sense of responsibility and the ability to work in a team. In this way, they learn skills that are otherwise only acquired after the apprenticeship. Thanks to the active support of the industrial trainees, the "SWG Shop" is even able to offer products manufactured in-house.

The "Tour of Hope" was also represented at this event with a stand selling raffle tickets for a good cause.

Many passers-by were impressed by how professionally the trainees had planned and organised the event themselves. Some were so impressed by the SWG shop's product range that they spontaneously bought some of it. The trainees showed how versatile training can be on this day with a great deal of commitment.

Internet visitors can find more information on the subject of training at www.stadtwerke-giessen.de.
