Stadtwerke Gießen has been supporting the first women's team of the Wieseck bowling club since the start of the current season. The sponsorship agreement for the first division team runs for three years.
A region lives not least from its clubs - including those clubs that provide a home for amateur sportspeople and top amateur sport. This includes the Kegelsportvereinigung (KSV) Wieseck, which is representing Central Hesse in the highest German women's league in scissor lane bowling this season. "We are incredibly proud of our promotion. Now we want to show what we can do at the very highest level," reveals Sebastian Mania, second chairman of KSV Wieseck.
In 2009, the first women's team of KSV Wieseck was promoted to the 1st Bundesliga women's scissor bowling for the first time. Since then, with a one-year interruption, the team has been playing in the top division, in which seven other women's teams from Germany compete. The majority of the clubs are based in North Rhine-Westphalia. Since last season, the team has received reinforcements from the region, meaning that KSV Wieseck's mission this year is to reach the championship round. Stadtwerke Gießen (SWG) is supporting the bowlers as a sponsor. On 6 December, Sebastian Mania, Florian Steindor, Luisa Wagner, Andre Klatyik and Stephanie Orlik from SWG presented the new partnership to the public.
Stephanie Orlik emphasised: "The work of the clubs throughout the region is invaluable. They offer the opportunity for activity and repeatedly produce top performances, not only in those sports that enjoy a high level of media attention." The sponsorship partnership between KSV Wieseck and SWG will run for at least three years - a long-term commitment that has a long tradition at Stadtwerke Gießen.
