Andrea Stein from Fernwald was delighted to receive 4,000 kWh Balance Naturstrom from Stadtwerke Gießen AG (SWG). Gerhard Wißner (Marketing Service SWG) symbolically presented the winner with a voucher for the energy she had won from Naturstrom.
The winner was lucky enough to attend the LTi GIESSEN46ers basketball game in the Osthalle on 7 February. As part of the "Sponsor of the day" campaign, Stadtwerke Gießen presented itself at the GIESSEN46ers home game and organised a competition for spectators.
Every spectator could take part. The SWG competition card had to be filled in and thrown into the prize draw box. The winner was drawn at the end of the basketball game.
Balance Naturstrom
With the right electricity tariff, customers of Stadtwerke Gießen AG can make an active contribution to environmental protection. SWG customers can promote the use of "green" energy at their own discretion. BALANCE Naturstrom is SWG's guaranteed environmentally friendly electricity supply contract. This energy concept, which has been successful in Giessen for years, allows electricity customers to cover part (25%, 50%, 75%) or all of their annual requirements from renewable energy sources such as solar, hydropower, wind or biogas. For BALANCE, customers only pay a surcharge of 4.1 cents per kilowatt hour on top of their underlying electricity supply contract and only for the desired proportion of "green" energy. The surcharge finances the feed-in of the "green" energy into SWG's electricity grid.
Stadtwerke Gießen's partner is Naturstrom AG Düsseldorf, which has been awarded a gold label by the "Grüner Strom Label" association. Naturstrom AG was launched in 1998 as Germany's first independent green electricity trader. Its revenues are not only channelled into the production of green electricity, but also support the construction of new generation plants.
