Stadtwerke Giessen is supporting the Caritas Association Giessen in organising this year's summer festival with a donation.
A colourful cake buffet in the afternoon, a cheerful entertainment programme with singer-songwriter Nette and a cosy barbecue evening at the end: the summer party of the Caritas Association Giessen was a complete success. The participants - around 30 people with disabilities and ten Caritas employees - spent a wonderful afternoon together and praised the helpers and organisers. The Caritas organisation found a supporter in Stadtwerke Gießen (SWG). "Thanks to their help, we can realise all our ideas and wishes today. And SWG also donated the cake buffet, which saved us a lot of work," said a delighted Brigitte Schütz, Head of Open Services in the association's elderly care department, at the cheque presentation last Friday.Oliver Kisignacz from SWG, who suggested the support as one of the 75 good deeds, has been familiar with the work of Caritas for many years. Responsible for industrial and business customer support at the municipal utilities, he is a regular guest at the organisation's facility. Before and after his business appointments, he has enough time to see for himself how important the commitment of the employees and volunteers is. "I am particularly impressed by the support that people with disabilities receive. Caritas helps them in the areas of housing, care, support and nursing," said Oliver Kisignacz, adding that the summer party is an integral part of this programme and every year the staff at the facility come up with something special - this year it was the performance by singer-songwriter Nette, which not only Brigitte Schütz enjoyed. After the event, she said: "Singing together was great fun for everyone and was definitely the highlight of the day."
