It's that time again. Christmas is just around the corner. For the local transport department of Stadtwerke Gießen AG (SWG), this is the time to put together another attractive timetable for the city buses on Christmas Eve, New Year's Eve and New Year's Day.
On Christmas Eve, Giessen's city buses will run according to the Sunday and public holiday timetable. However, the city bus service will be cancelled early on this day - at 17:00. The buses will also run according to the public holiday timetable on the two Christmas holidays. On New Year's Eve, the city buses will run according to the Sunday and public holiday timetable from the start of service until around 11.30 pm and then return to the SWG premises. For the night from New Year's Eve to New Year's Day, SWG has set up a so-called circular service. A special timetable applies between 01:00 and 04:00 on this night. Three night bus routes run every 60 minutes within the city of Giessen and the municipality of Heuchelheim.
Line A
Line A runs via Berliner Platz, Schiffenberger Weg, Sandkauter Weg, Ohlebergsweg, Aulweg, Frankfurter Straße, Klein-Linden, Allendorf, Lützellinden and back via Klein-Linden, Frankfurter Straße to Berliner Platz.
Line B
Line B runs via Berliner Platz, Ostanlage, Marburger Straße, Wiesecker Weg, Wieseck, Philosophenwald, Grünberger Straße, Rödgener Straße, Rödgen, Licher Straße back to Berliner Platz.
Line C
Line C runs from Berliner Platz via Eichgärtenviertel, Weststadt, Heuchelheim and Kinzenbach back to Berliner Platz.
