Ringallee bathing centre

Tomorrow is finally the day. Then the Ringallee swimming centre will be open again: slide free. A slide is part of the fun at the swimming pool for young and old alike. Stadtwerke Gießen AG (SWG) is delighted to finally be able to present its guests with the giant water slide again after the renovation period. "The water slide is an absolute must for our swimming pool visitors," explained Reinhard Paul, Technical Director of SWG. "It is a particular pleasure for me to be able to put the slide back into operation because I know that the 62 metre long slide is a real "good mood" guarantee," said Paul.

The new slide

The new slide now has its own landing pool. So if you test the slide, you won't end up in the training pool as usual, but in the landing pool. This pool not only fulfils the current safety standards, but also ensures that slide passengers have a gentle landing after a full ride. During the slide, bathers experience effect lighting in the last third of the slide. Once at the bottom, you pass through a veil of water before the slide fun comes to an end.

Renovation work

At the beginning of the year, it was discovered that the slide at the Ringallee bathing centre was in need of renovation. At least the lower third, as SWG had already renovated the upper part of the slide the previous year. In April, SWG started renovating the last part of the slide, which dates back to 1985. The slide fun is therefore guaranteed for the next few years.

Slide opening with a programme

The SWG swimming pool department has come up with a special programme for the opening of the slide. From 15:00 to 18:00 there will be an afternoon of games for kids in the Ringallee bathing centre. In addition to the slide, diving enthusiasts can use the diving platforms in the swimmers' pool for three hours. In the teaching and swimmers' pools, children have access to play equipment specially designed for the water. Lane swimming cannot take place due to the afternoon of games. So if you want to swim your laps undisturbed on Saturday, you can do so from 8.00 am to 3.00 pm.

Fitness and recreation programme

SWG will be offering a free taster session in the aqua-gym pool from 15:00 to 18:00 for anyone interested. If you would like to take part in this training programme, you should be able to swim.

From 18:00, the fitness programme continues in the swimming pool. There, swimmers can take part in aqua fitness training. Bathers who would like to treat themselves to a massage can enjoy wellness massages at a special price all day Saturday. Sauna visitors will not miss out either. The sauna is open until 22:00 on this day and offers its visitors special infusions. One of these is the Christkindlaufguss. In the steam bath, visitors can enjoy a chocolate dream followed by a Kneipp infusion. From 20:00 to 22:00, the Stadtwerke offers late visitors a moonlight swim with candlelight and relaxing music in the indoor swimming pool.

Food and drink

From 3.00 p.m. to 10.00 p.m., swimmers can recharge their batteries with food and drink at the Poseidon restaurant. And all at family-friendly prices. Culinary delights are also available in the indoor swimming pool on this day.
