From 4 March to 5 April, Stadtwerke Gießen (SWG) and the city of Pohlheim will be holding an exhibition at the city council to provide information about saving energy in the home. During an energy-saving consultation hour on Thursday, 21 March between 2 and 6 p.m., an SWG energy consultant will also be answering questions from Pohlheim residents.
"When I talk to people in our community, I notice very clearly that they want to know more about how they can reduce their consumption and are looking for simple solutions. Together with Stadtwerke Gießen, we would like to help people further," explained Mayor Karl-Heinz Schäfer at the opening of the exhibition on 4 March.
Visitors can find tips on how to save money on several display boards. Thilo Weiß, whom SWG prepared for the task in the municipality during a one-day training course, will advise them in person. "Advice has been one of our most important tasks as a regional energy company for many decades," emphasises Michael Rösner, Head of Sales for Private and Commercial Customers at SWG. He therefore knows the concerns and also many common misconceptions: "The motivation to save on electricity and heat consumption has always been there among customers, but it has increased considerably in recent years. Often there is simply a lack of awareness when it comes to using energy. If you change this, you can achieve a lot - we provide the important background information and present it here together with the city of Pohlheim."
The exhibition focuses in particular on the topics of the heating check, electricity savings check and economical household appliances. Visitors have the opportunity to borrow electricity measuring devices for testing in their own homes. Thilo Weiß will also be on hand after the end of the exhibition to advise Pohlheim residents on how to save energy.
If you are looking for ways to save energy in your household, the energy consultants from Stadtwerke Giessen can also help you at the customer centre on the market square in Giessen.
