In the last contribution to this year's "Energy Knowledge on Tuesday" lecture series, Stadtwerke Gießen will be providing information on the topic of "Saving electricity in the home" on 20 December.

Energy efficiency has never been more important for the climate and your wallet. The good news is that electricity can be saved in practically every household - and with the usual convenience. "With our tips, you can noticeably reduce energy costs at home with little effort," says Astrid Weixler, energy consultant at Stadtwerke Gießen. As part of the SWG lecture series "Energy Knowledge on Tuesday" on 20 December, her colleague Martin Lorenz will explain, among other things, where a lot of energy is lost and show how consumption can really be reduced.

Avoid unnecessary costs
From kitchen appliances to consumer electronics - a modern household consumes a lot of energy. It is therefore advisable to always check the energy efficiency class when buying a new appliance, for example. But which is the right one? Energy consultant Martin Lorenz explains and shows which categories currently apply.

Borrowing electricity meters
Another cost trap: many electrical appliances draw electricity even when they are not being used. Martin Lorenz also addresses this in his presentation and explains how to track down this unnecessary energy consumption and how SWG can help you save electricity. One possibility is to use electricity meters. They allow you to quickly find out which household appliances are best disconnected from the mains completely. Customers can borrow such measuring devices from the SWG customer centre on Marktplatz. Experienced SWG specialists also offer personalised energy advice there if required.

If you would like to watch the online lecture on 20 December 2022 at 5:30 pm, please register by 18 December 2022 at energieberatung@stadtwerke-giessen.de and you will receive a participation link in good time before the event.
