New, attractive offer: 9 o'clock card

his year's fare change will take place on Sunday, 12 December 2004. As announced by RMV in the summer, fares will be adjusted. While the prices for single tickets in price levels two to four will increase by five cents, passengers with price level one will continue to pay 1.30 euros for a single ticket in the Giessen city area. In addition to new fares, RMV is also offering its passengers a new service: the 9 o'clock ticket. If you can do without travelling in the morning rush hour, you can travel much more cheaply with the 9 o'clock card. Designed as a monthly or annual ticket, passengers can save up to 25 per cent (15 per cent for price level one and 20 per cent for price levels two to four) compared to classic season tickets. The only thing to note about this savings offer is that, as the name suggests, the 9 o'clock tickets are only valid from nine o'clock on Mondays to Fridays. At weekends and on public holidays, however, the new season ticket competes with the normal monthly and annual season ticket. Because then it is also valid around the clock without restrictions. Despite the general timetable change, the routes and times of SWG's city buses will not change for the time being. However, the market square will be closed to bus traffic at the beginning of next year due to remodelling work. Passengers will then be able to find more detailed information on the notices in the buses, at the bus stops and in the daily newspapers. SWG staff will be available to answer any questions you may have about customised mobility at the mobility centre in the infoCentre on Marktplatz. The mobility centre is open Monday to Friday from 9 am to 6 pm and on Saturdays from 9 am to 2 pm. The new timetable book with the diversion timetable is already available there for 1.80 euros. Further information about the timetable and fare change can also be found on the Internet at www.rmv.de.
