After the coming weekend, the Ringallee outdoor pool will close its doors for the year. The results for this season are positive: More than 90,000 guests took advantage of the beautiful weather to swim in the open air and sunbathe.
The season is over: on Sunday, 13 September, the Ringallee outdoor pool operated by Stadtwerke Gießen (SWG) will close until next summer. As with SWG's two smaller outdoor pools, the Ringallee pool's results are very positive. The prolonged good weather with plenty of sunshine and hot temperatures ensured high visitor numbers. Uwe Volbrecht, Head of Swimming Pools at SWG, is satisfied: "In summer 2015, we welcomed more than 90,000 guests to the Ringallee outdoor pool - on one particularly hot day in early July alone, there were almost 6,000. Together with Lützellinden and Kleinlinden, we counted a total of over 120,000 visitors this season."
Swimming fun in the winter season
In the winter season, the Ringallee bathing centre will once again attract visitors with its popular indoor pool and modern sauna area; the usual opening hours apply. From 1 October, guests can also look forward to a gastronomic innovation: After a seven-month remodelling phase, the former restaurant will be transformed into a new bistro. "In order to meet the needs of our visitors even better, we have implemented a completely new catering concept in our Aquabistro. We will be announcing more details shortly," announces Uwe Vollbrecht.
Information on opening times and prices for the SWG pools is available from the service telephone on 0641 708 1411 and on the Stadtwerke Gießen website at www.stadtwerke-giessen.de/baeder.
