Replacement weeks launched: Refurbish your heating system and secure a bonus

During the Replacement Weeks, homeowners receive a bonus if they replace their ageing boiler with a modern and efficient system. Stadtwerke Gießen is also taking part in this campaign.

Giessen. The energy revolution cannot succeed without a heating revolution - and this must also reach Germany's boiler room. However, the proportion of boilers that are not state of the art is still high. For Hesse alone, the Zukunft ERDGAS initiative states that there are 900,000 low-temperature gas boilers that could be modernised with condensing technology. In addition, there are around 700,000 oil boilers, which would save enormous amounts of CO2 if they were converted to natural gas. For this reason, Stadtwerke Gießen (SWG) is offering a special incentive to modernise heating systems during the Replacement Weeks.

200 euros extra for replacing heating systems
Until the end of October 2018, SWG is rewarding all those who replace their old boilers with modern systems with a bonus of 200 euros. The promotion applies to house and flat owners who install a new natural gas condensing boiler. In addition, the German government's subsidy programmes make replacing heating systems attractive: as part of the KfW programmes, modernisers benefit from a state subsidy of around 800 euros, which corresponds to ten percent of the assumed investment sum. SWG supports its customers with further financial incentives when it comes to efficient heat supply. Anyone who has their heating system planned, built or optimised by the energy experts receives a one-off bonus of 40 euros.
