The trade union ver.di is calling for further warning strikes. The Giessen city buses will therefore remain in the depot on Friday, 17 May and from Tuesday, 21 May to Wednesday, 22 May.
The wage negotiations between ver.di and the companies organised in the State Association of Hessian Bus Companies (LHO) are dragging on. In order to emphasise its demands, the union is calling two more strikes in advance - first on Friday, 17 May and from Tuesday, 21 May to Wednesday, 22 May. All-day warning strikes are expected on all three days.
In Giessen, the appeal is aimed at the bus drivers of MIT.BUS, the local transport subsidiary of Stadtwerke Giessen (SWG). This means that the Giessen city buses on lines 1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 10, 18, 800, 801 and 802 will not be running on the days mentioned. From Saturday, 18 May to Monday (Whitsun), 20 May, the buses will run according to the regular timetable.
SWG asks all passengers to be prepared for the strikes and to apologise for any possible restrictions. Passengers can find up-to-date timetable information on the regional transport services in the electronic timetable information.
All information on timetable changes is also available at the RMV mobility centre in Giessen on the market square, by telephone on 0641 708-1400 or online at www.swg-verkehr.de. Opening hours of the Giessen mobility centre in the SWG customer centre: Mondays to Fridays from 9 am to 6 pm.
