Stadtwerke Gießen is driving forward the local transport revolution. They are expanding their innovative E-Revolution product family to include the e-scooter module.
The transport revolution has many faces. Electric cars, city buses or bicycles - in a city like Giessen, there are relatively many sensible alternatives to cars with combustion engines. E-scooters are a particularly practical alternative. In a way, they bridge the gap between electric cars and e-bikes. A scooter can easily transport two people - with virtually no physical effort. This makes it much easier to use as a means of transport to work. When it comes to finding a parking space, the compact two-wheelers are almost as undemanding as conventional bikes and a permanently mounted top case offers plenty of space for many a purchase.
"Because electrically powered scooters offer many advantages, we have added one to our E-Revolution product family," says Ulli Boos, Head of Marketing at Stadtwerke Gießen (SWG), explaining the introduction of e-scooters. Behind it is a Kito 2000 - a scooter with a classic, Italian-style retro design. However, this model not only impresses with its looks. "Right from the start, we attached great importance to good workmanship," recalls Ulli Boos. The Kito 2000 also scores with useful details: the glove compartment, for example, is not just for storing small items such as house keys. Thanks to the integrated USB port, it is also possible to recharge the smartphone battery while driving. The quality of the Kito has already been confirmed by a neutral body: In a test by the Luxembourg Automobile Club, the scooter scored 6.9 points - just 0.2 points behind the overall winner. "But it costs around 2000 euros more. That makes the Kito the clear price-performance winner and ultimately won us over," says Ulli Boos.
Easy to drive
People whose driving licence allows them to ride two-wheelers up to a maximum speed of 45 kilometres per hour are permitted to ride the Kito 2000 on the road. This means that even young people with an AM driving licence can ride this practical scooter in an environmentally friendly manner. Strictly speaking, the Kito 2000 would significantly increase their radius of action in most cases. This is because one charge of the smallest battery lasts for around 40 kilometres. "Even the entry-level model with the S battery covers the needs of many users - and at an attractive price," Ulli Boos is certain.
Keyword price: SWG can offer the e-scooter cheaper than the manufacturer - by up to 130 euros depending on the configuration. The entry-level price is 2699 euros. However, these special conditions only apply in the Central Hesse region. Configuration and ordering are conveniently carried out online. Further information: www.erevolution.de/e-roller
