After Stadtwerke Gießen AG (SWG) opened the gates of its outdoor pool on Ringallee a fortnight ago, all fans of the outdoor pools in Kleinlinden and Lützellinden can now rejoice: on Tuesday, 6 June 2006, the outdoor pools in Kleinlinden and Lützellinden will start the outdoor pool season.
As the pools in both swimming pools are not heated and the summer temperatures are still a long way off, bathers in Kleinlinden and Lützellinden can still expect relatively cool water temperatures.
However, it is not much warmer on the well-known and popular holiday coasts at the moment. On the Mediterranean, the water temperatures are between 19 degrees (Côte d'Azur) and around 20 degrees (Balearic Islands). On the North Sea, the water measures just 11 to 13 degrees and on the Baltic Sea 8 to 12 degrees.
Opening hours and admission prices
Outside of the holidays, the pools are open Monday to Friday from 12:00 to 20:00. At weekends, on public holidays and on all days during the school holidays, the outdoor pools are open from 9:00 am to 8:00 pm.
During the winter break, both the Kleinlinden and Lützellinden outdoor pools were subject to the usual renovation and maintenance work.
Admission prices remain stable. Single admission costs 1.50 euros. Adults pay 30 euros for a season ticket. A five-ticket is available for 6 euros and a season ticket for the whole family costs 60 euros. Further information is available Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on the service hotline 0180 22 11 100 or on the SWG homepage at www.stadtwerke-giessen.de
