Goal wall shooting, free throw competition and family quiz - hundreds of visitors to the SWG family festival put their skills and knowledge to the test. The best of all participants have now received their well-deserved reward.
On 22 July, Stadtwerke Gießen (SWG) welcomed the winners of the games at the SWG Family Festival. Stadtwerke board members Manfred Siekmann and Reinhard Paul, company spokeswoman Ina Weller and marketing manager Ulli Boos presented the prizes at the SWG headquarters.
SWG chose a total of 41 winners who were successful in the family quiz with Willi Weitzel, the goal wall shooting competition and the free throw competition on the basketball hoop. The Rohm family from Giessen received a voucher for 1000 kilowatt hours (kWh) of Giessen green electricity for their correct answers in the family quiz. Elisabeth Regan and Michael Schlotterbeck also took part in the quiz together and then shared the prize. Both parties were delighted to receive 500 kWh of green electricity each.
Carsten Scherer from Lahnau also received 1000 kWh of Giessen green electricity - he scored five goals in the goal wall shooting competition. In the free throw competition, Ruben Feidner, Benissa Zilahi-Szabo and Tom Paul Volk, all from Giessen, each managed to sink four basketballs into the basket. SWG rewarded all three of them with a balloon trip for two. A further 34 participants who scored three goals received 1000 kWh of green electricity from Giessen.
With around 12,000 visitors from Central Hesse and the surrounding districts coming to Giessen on 30 June to celebrate SWG's anniversary, the family festival was a complete success. "We are delighted that so many people accepted our invitation," said Manfred Siekmann. His fellow board member Reinhard Paul added: "The region and the people who live here are particularly close to our hearts."
