From Monday, 19 June, the two inner lanes of the inner city ring road from John-F.-Kennedy-Platz to Berliner Platz will be fully closed. City and regional buses will have to be diverted in the direction of Selterstor. The closure of this section of the route is necessary due to preparations for the traffic trial.

Giessen. Preparations for the traffic trial on the Anlagenring will begin next Monday. This will have an impact on bus services, which will no longer be able to use the Ostanlage from John-F.-Kennedy-Platz to Berliner Platz for a period of approx. 3 weeks from the start of operations. The stops "Landgericht" and "Behördenzentrum" in this direction and other stops depending on the diversion route cannot be served. Replacement stops will be set up. Once this section of the ring road has been completed, the diverted city buses and suburban lines - with the exception of the GI-25 line - will resume their regular routes. There will be no changes in the opposite direction with regard to routes and stops.

The changes to the city bus routes in detail:

Line 5 and line 15 (from Wieseck to the railway station)

From the "Röderring" stop on Wiesecker Weg, buses travelling in the direction of the railway station will travel via Waldbrunnenweg, Ringallee, Eichgärtenallee, Moltkestraße, Grünberger Straße, Berliner Platz to Marktplatz and on to the railway station.

There is an alternative stop in Waldbrunnenweg for the "Feuerbachstraße" stop. In Ringallee, the bus will stop at the Theodor-Litt-Schule exit as a replacement for the actual "Theodor-Litt-Schule" stop and at the level of building D 13 of the Mittelhessen University of Applied Sciences as a replacement for the "Steinstraße" and "Landgericht" stops.

Instead of stopping at the "Behördenzentrum" stop, both lines will stop at the "Berliner Platz" stop in front of the town hall.

Due to the longer journey, lines 5 and 15 in the direction of Wieseck will start 3 minutes earlier.

Line 12 (from Sandfeldschule to Gewerbegebiet West)

The buses will travel in the direction of Gewerbegebiet West from the "Steinstraße" stop via Nordanlage to Oswaldsgarten.

The bus will stop at the "Nordanlage" stop and the alternative stop in front of the Nordanlage/Rodheimer Straße junction. On Sundays, line 12 runs via the regular stop "Oswaldsgarten" to Berliner Platz and continues as line 6 to Schiffenberg.

Please also note the timetable change on line 12 from Sandfeldschule in the direction of Gewerbegebiet West.

Line 6 (Berliner Platz to Schiffenberg)

Line 6 in the direction of Schiffenberg serves the "Berliner Platz" stop in front of the Kongresshalle instead of the "Behördenzentrum" stop.

The changes to the surrounding lines in detail:

Line Gi-25 (from Reinhardshain to Gießen-Johanneskirche)

Line 25 runs from the "Steinstraße" stop via Nordanlage, Marktplatz back to the "Steinstraße" stop.

The stops "Nordanlage", "Oswaldsgarten", "Marktplatz", "Behördenzentrum" and "Landgericht" will be served. The stops "Mühlstraße", "Bahnhofstraße" and "Johanneskirche" will be cancelled. The construction site timetable is valid for the entire duration of the changeover phase.

Line 371 (from Grünberg to Giessen railway station)

The buses will run in the direction of Giessen railway station from the "Steinstraße" stop via Nordanlage and Westanlage to the railway station.

The "Nordanlage" stop and the "Mühlstraße" stop in the Westanlage will be served. The stops "Landgericht", "Behördenzentrum", "Johanneskirche" and "Liebigstraße" will not be served.
