"Play your game" - City Day on 21 June
On Sunday, 21 June, SWG invites you to "Spiel' Dein Spiel" - City Day at the Ringallee outdoor pool.
A colourful programme of different sports to take part in and try out - this is what Stadtwerke Gießen (SWG) is offering together with clubs from the region on Sunday, 21 June, at the Ringallee outdoor pool. For the eighth time now, SWG is inviting families to "Spiel' Dein Spiel" - City Day. Between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m., this traditional day of action will once again be all about sport and fun for young and old.
The cooperation between SWG and the clubs active in the region has proven its worth: "The Ringallee outdoor pool is the ideal location for an event that our partners fill with life," says SWG company spokesperson Ulli Boos, describing the collaboration. Specifically, four clubs are taking part this year. They are presenting the sports of handball, basketball, American football and floorball. There is also the circus barn, where clown Ichmael will introduce his young guests to the art of juggling and balancing. The Injoy fitness studio located in the Ringallee bathing centre will be demonstrating a broad spectrum - from mobility & stability to Zumba, Pilates and full-body training through to open fitness sessions. And the Giessen swimming pools will be providing exercise to hot rhythms with Aqua-Zumba. Admission to "Spiel' Dein Spiel" - City Day is free. This also applies to the outdoor pool, which is open regularly on this day.
Holistic approach
City Day has been an integral part of the "Spiel' Dein Spiel" campaign from the very beginning. With this campaign, SWG aims to get children and young people interested in sport and exercise. "With our campaign, we support clubs, schools and other organisations in the region that are committed to children's and youth sport," says SWG company spokesperson Ulli Boos, explaining the idea behind "Spiel' Dein Spiel". In addition to donations of money and goods, this support also includes the "Spiel' Dein Spiel" - City Day. With this event, SWG is creating a platform for clubs from Giessen and the surrounding area to present their programmes to a wide audience.
