Summer is currently attracting numerous visitors to the Ringallee outdoor pool. Even in the evening hours, many people from Giessen and the surrounding area are still looking for refreshment there. "We want to give bathers the opportunity to swim a few laps and cool off for longer than usual in the summer heat," explains Uwe Volbrecht, Head of Pool Operations at Stadtwerke Gießen (SWG), and reveals: "We have therefore decided to flexibly extend the opening hours from 8 pm to 9 pm on particularly hot days."
The regulation applies from Monday, 10 July until the end of the Hessian summer holidays on Friday, 11 August - whenever the weather service forecasts a daily maximum temperature of at least 28 degrees.
