As usual, Stadtwerke Giessen's two district outdoor pools open their doors again on the first weekend in June.
The season in the Kleinlinden and Lützellinden outdoor pools starts next Saturday, 4 June 2022. They are open daily from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., with swimming fun starting at 10 a.m. during the school holidays. Single admission still costs 2.80 euros. However, as in the other Giessen pools, the prices for five-person and season tickets are rising slightly: a five-person ticket for adults is available for 14.40 euros, the reduced price is 9.60 euros. A season ticket for adults currently costs 64 euros, while the discounted version costs 42.60 euros.
Some modernisation
A lot has happened since last season: in Lützellinden, the Giessen swimming pools invested around 140,000 euros in a new plastic lining for the pool. The outdoor pool was also given a modern chlorine gas control system. In Kleinlinden, the solar thermal system was renovated and a new chlorine gas warning system was installed. "Now both outdoor pools are fit for the coming years," says Uwe Volbrecht, head of the Giessen swimming pools. Having been prepared in this way, the Kleinlinden outdoor pool will once again be the venue for a popular sporting competition - the mini triathlon - on 9 July for the first time after a two-year break due to the coronavirus. "We are already looking forward to this always really nice event," explains Uwe Volbrecht.
As everywhere else, there are no longer any special coronavirus restrictions in Kleinlinden and Lützellinden. Nevertheless, Uwe Volbrecht advises caution: "We recommend continuing to follow the hygiene rules, keeping your distance where possible and wearing a face mask indoors."
