Swimmers in Kleinlinden and Lützellinden can still swim in the open air until Sunday, 6 September - then the two outdoor pools operated by Stadtwerke Gießen (SWG) will close until the next season. Unlike last year, the weather played along in summer 2015 and attracted tens of thousands of visitors. Uwe Volbrecht, Head of Swimming Pools at SWG, is delighted with the good results: "More than 17,700 guests came to Lützellinden and more than 18,850 to Kleinlinden to cool off in the sunshine and hot temperatures."
SWG can also be satisfied with the number of visitors to the Ringallee outdoor pool. "After 83,000 last year, we have clearly exceeded the 100,000 mark," emphasises Uwe Volbrecht. If the weather improves, there could be a few more. This is because the season at the Ringallee outdoor pool ends a week later than in Kleinlinden and Lützellinden - on 13 September.
