The swimming season in Giessen starts on Saturday, 14 May 2011, when the municipal utilities open the outdoor pool in Ringallee to visitors at 9 a.m. on the dot. "In view of the good weather forecast, we are expecting a successful start this weekend," says Reinhard Paul, Technical Director of SWG. In the weeks beforehand, the municipal utilities had already prepared their pool for the first impending rush of visitors and overhauled the technical facilities in particular.
In addition to the prospect of a sunny weekend of swimming, the people of Giessen will be particularly pleased by the fact that not only the opening times but also the admission prices will remain the same this year. As in the previous year, a single ticket costs 2.40 euros, a 5-person ticket costs 9.60 euros and a season ticket for adults costs 67.20 euros. The reduced annual ticket price for children and those entitled to a discount is 44.80 euros, while the family ticket for the whole season costs 134.40 euros. As in previous years, season ticket purchasers will also have the option of an early swimmer ticket in 2011. This allows you to enter the outdoor pool from 7 a.m. and swim your laps undisturbed by the usual hustle and bustle.
