After 44 matches in the 2014/2015 season, the finalists of the traditional SWG Cup have been decided: the men's teams of SG Kinzenbach and TSG Wieseck will play the final match on Whit Monday at 6 pm on the Wißmar sports field. Football fans of all ages can look forward to a varied day of football from 10 am.

What fascinates millions of fans at national and international level is also fun at local level: cup finals. One highlight is the now traditional SWG Cup in the region, which is being played for the eleventh time this season. The popular final, which in 2015 will be held on Whit Monday, 25 May, often attracts well over 1000 visitors. This year's SWG district cup final day is being organised by VfB Olympia Wißmar, who are inviting young and old to the sports field in Wißmar from 10 am. As in previous years, Stadtwerke Gießen (SWG) is supporting the SWG men's and women's cup finals. "We are already looking forward to this sporting highlight, which has become a cherished tradition for SWG and the spectators," emphasises SWG company spokesperson Ina Weller. She hopes for "thrilling finals".
Away from the pitch, the regional energy supplier provides excitement and variety - at the SWG get-together. There, visitors can buy raffle tickets for the "Tour of Hope" charity tour or spin the wheel of fortune for free, take part in the throwing game and shoot at the goal wall.

Full programme
As in previous years, the SWG district cup final day starts with the reserve team match. The programme continues at 12 noon with the final match of the senior men's over 35s. Before the exciting women's SWG Cup final begins at 2.00 pm, the girls' teams from both clubs will show off their skills. After the women's final, spectators will be treated to an interlude by the very young G-Kickers from FSG Lollar/Staufenberg and TSV Allendorf. Then it gets serious again when the adult footballers from these two clubs fight for third place from 4.10 pm. The kick-off for the grand final between SG Kinzenbach and TSG Wieseck is at 6 p.m. - before that, the G-juniors of both teams will have a short duel. At the end of the competition day, Stadtwerke will present the winning teams with the coveted trophies.
