08.12.2016

From Sunday, 11 December 2016, the new timetables will apply in the Rhine-Main transport network. The changes will also affect bus routes 1, 5 and 7 operated by Stadtwerke Gießen and route 24 operated by ESE Verkehrsgesellschaft between Gießen and Wetzlar.

Changes for line 1
On school days, the 7.12 a.m. bus service on line 1 from the "Rödgen-Bürgerhaus" stop to the "Max-Reger-Straße" stop will be cancelled. On the other hand, the number of vehicles will be increased from 7.19 a.m. from the "Albert-Schweitzer-Schule" stop to the "Max-Reger-Straße" stop. In addition, the short journeys between the stops "Berliner Platz" and "Sophie-Scholl-Schule" between 3.34 pm and 11.33 pm on Mondays to Fridays will be cancelled.

Changes for line 5

The bus on line 5 on school days from Monday to Friday at 7.04 a.m. from the "Greizer Straße" stop will in future terminate at the "Hessenhalle" stop, no longer at the "Herderschule" stop.

Changes for line 7

The 7.22 a.m. school day service on line 7 from the "Philosophenwald" stop will now run to the "Hessenhalle" stop. Previously, this journey ended at the "Herderschule" stop.

Changes for line 24

There will be a number of changes to the timetable for line 24 between Giessen and Wetzlar and in the opposite direction from 11 December. These particularly affect journeys in the evening and at weekends. In addition, some journeys will be routed differently. The changes to the route that were necessary due to the roadworks in Atzbach will continue to apply.

Passengers can find all the details in the new timetable, which Stadtwerke Gießen has made available on its website at www.stadtwerke-giessen.de/verkehr.
Of course, the staff at the mobility centre in the customer centre on Marktplatz can also help - in person or by telephone on the SWG service number 0641 708-1400. Opening hours: Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
