Giessen. From Monday 15 October, the start of the Hessian autumn holidays and at the same time the start of the winter semester, a new bus timetable will apply in Giessen for line 1 from Lützellinden to Rödgen. This was announced by the local transport division of Stadtwerke Gießen (SWG). Due to the increasing number of passengers travelling on this route, SWG is now increasingly using the new natural gas articulated buses from the public transport company MIT.BUS on this route from the start of lectures at Justus Liebig University.

This will result in several small changes to the timetable, which will be implemented from next Monday: New on route 1 are the journeys at 05:05, 05:40, 05:55, 06:10, 06:25, 06:58 and 07:01 from Lützellinden. These will replace journeys to Giessen Marktplatz, which previously ran at 05:00, 06:12 and 07:01. One journey on route 15 at 06:27 from the Greizer Straße stop to the Liebigstraße stop will also be cancelled. Further changes will affect bus services on school days from 29 October. When school starts, the additional bus at 06:59 from Lützellinden will change its route: in future, this journey will be on route 1 to Berliner Platz and not on route 11 to Johanneskirche as before.

Passengers can obtain up-to-date information on local transport in Giessen and timetable information from the mobility centre in the customer centre of Stadtwerke Giessen by calling +49 (0) 641 708 1400 or on the Internet at www.stadtwerke-giessen.de/verkehr where the new timetable is also available for download. Of course, the staff at the mobility centre in the SWG customer centre on Giessen's Marktplatz can also help with timetable printouts and advice.
