On Sunday, 22 October 2006, Neustadt will be completely closed from 7:00 am until probably 6:00 pm. The closure is necessary because a construction crane is being dismantled in the Neustadt. The Giessen city buses operated by Stadtwerke Giessen AG (SWG) will be running a diversion route on this day. This affects lines 2 (railway station - Europaviertel), 3 (cemetery - Schwarzacker), 7 (Evangelisches Krankenhaus - Philosophenwald), 24 (Gießen - Heuchelheim - Wetzlar), 801 (Gießen - Wißmar), 802 (Gießen - Krofdorf-Gleiberg).
Diversion in the direction of Oswaldsgarten
From the Marktplatz stop in the direction of Oswaldsgarten, buses will travel via Bahnhofstraße and Westanlage to the Mühlstraße stop. For this route, the road traffic authorities have authorised the city buses to turn right at the corner of Bahnhofstraße and Westanlage. As a replacement for the Oswaldsgarten stop, the buses will use the Mühlstraße stop.
Diversion in the direction of Marktplatz
In the direction of Marktplatz, buses will travel from the Mühlstraße stop via Westanlage, Reichensand and Bahnhofstraße. Passengers can also use the City Centre and Katharinengasse stops.
Routing of line 2
During this time, Line 2 will run from the City Centre stop via the Selterstor stop in Westanlage and the Liebigstraße stop in Frankfurter Straße to the railway station. On the return journey, it will take the same route as line 5, omitting the Bahnhofstraße stop.
Stadtwerke asks its passengers and all road users for their understanding for any traffic obstructions or delays that may occur.
