Municipal utilities provide information about new service package for local authorities

At the 13th Municipal Environmental Meeting (KUT) organised by Stadtwerke Gießen (SWG), Michael Rösner, Head of Sales for Private and Commercial Customers at SWG, presented the new service package "The Energy Saving Consultation Hour" to municipal environmental consultants and energy officers from the district of Gießen. With this offer, SWG specifically wants to support the municipalities in their daily work. The responsible employees of a municipality first receive a one-day training course on the subject of energy saving in order to be able to better respond to the concerns of the citizens. The service package also includes an information folder with answers to the most frequently asked questions on the subject of energy use and energy saving. SWG is also organising a four-week exhibition in the local town hall to show where the greatest savings potential is hidden in private households. Anyone wishing to check their electricity consumption at home can do so. The local authority will receive several measuring devices for the duration of the exhibition. "At the end, one of our energy consultants will come to the town hall again to advise interested local residents," explained Michael Rösner.

Michael Conradi from the German Association of Energy and Water Industries (BDEW) reported on the growing importance of the topic of energy efficiency in the coming years. Local authorities are increasingly acting as role models and legislators are assigning them a pioneering role. This also involves providing citizens with ever more comprehensive advice.

The energy consultants at Stadtwerke Gießen are available to answer questions about sensible energy use and energy services. The SWG advisors can be contacted Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on 0641 708-1177 or in person at the energy advice centre at Marktplatz 8.
