Since this week, guests have been entering the Ringallee bathing centre through a newly designed entrance area. It gives the centre a more attractive ambience and is intended to shorten waiting times, especially when there are large crowds.

Giessen. Anyone entering the Ringallee bathing centre for the first time in a long time will be surprised by what they see: The familiar ticket booth with its 70s look has had its day. Staff now welcome visitors at a modern, spacious counter with two cash desks. Uwe Volbrecht, head of the swimming pools department at Stadtwerke Gießen (SWG), explains: "When redesigning the building, we didn't just focus on the look, but above all on how we can better serve our customers."
The new entrance area has a number of advantages. Above all, there is now the opportunity to advise bathers in detail, even at peak times - including on the offers that will soon be available in the Actic Fitness gym. "Our colleagues will staff the two cash desks as required, thus ensuring significantly reduced waiting times and comprehensive service even when there are large crowds," promises Uwe Volbrecht. In addition, the automatic pay station will of course remain in place.

Additional improvements
Another plus: the bright and spacious Beco shop to the right of the reception desk. Here you will find all kinds of swimwear, towels and useful items - from swimming aids for children to swimming shoes and swimming goggles for professionals. Clearly presented and with a large selection.
Last but not least, SWG have also thought about the fact that bathers have to wait for each other before entering or after leaving the swimming pool. Comfortable armchairs provide seating in the foyer. Those who spend longer in the entrance area can also order a drink at the bar. In future, SWG will also provide lots of information about the pool centre via a large display - such as the current water temperature. In addition, a lift is expected to be available from the end of the year to access the sauna area on the first floor - practical for people who have difficulty climbing stairs.
