Around fifty live bands, around a thousand classic cars and as many visitors as possible who want to revive the lifestyle of the 50s and 60s: The Golden Oldies Festival in Wettenberg enters its 21st round on the weekend of 30 July to 1 August. Festival guests in a party mood are best advised to take a MIT.BUS to get there and back. The buses of the local transport subsidiary of Stadtwerke Gießen are putting in extra shifts to bring James Dean and friends safely to Wettenberg.
The additional MIT.BUS GmbH buses will run every 30 minutes between Giessen railway station and Krofdorf-Gleiberg on Friday, 30 July from 18:00 to 00:00, on Saturday, 31 July from 10:00 to 00:30 and on Sunday, 1 August from 09:00 to 20:30.
The stops: Station forecourt, Liebigstraße Südanlage, Marktplatz, Oswaldsgarten, Schützenstraße, replacement stop in Schützenstraße, "Hochhäuser" stop, Launsbach-Gewerbepark Ost, Krofdorf-Gleiberg-Gewerbepark West and Wiesenstraße.
The regular SWG lines 802 and 800 run according to the timetable, but follow a diversion route in Krofdorf-Gleiberg via Wiesenstraße and Kattenbachstraße with stops only at Wiesenstraße, Kronzenborner Weg and Wißmarer Straße.
Please note before boarding: The special tickets are not valid on lines 800 and 802. The day tickets for the festival cost 2 euros each and are only valid on the special buses.
