The daycare centre (Kita) at Buchenberg in Daubringen is to shine in new splendour. The daycare centre's support association has set itself this goal and has already purchased a new shelf for the nappy-changing room in the crèche and replaced the group room doors. The newly renovated washrooms were still missing two large glass back mirrors made of shatterproof safety glass specially designed for nurseries. These were donated by Stadtwerke Gießen (SWG) as part of its "75 good deeds" anniversary campaign.
SWG sponsor Uwe Schwarz, whose children Jaron and Sibell attend the daycare centre, presented a donation cheque to deputy daycare centre manager Stefanie Grölz on 8 May 2013. "I had noticed that there were still no mirrors in the washrooms," explained Uwe Schwarz when handing over the cheque. "That's why I suggested the donation as one of the 75 good deeds."
Marco Schwarz, Chairman of the Friends' Association, was delighted with the donation: "This will go a long way towards our goal of having everything in perfect condition by 23 June." That's when the anniversary celebrations will take place at the Daubringen daycare centre, which currently has around 70 children between the ages of one and ten. Stefanie Grölz adds: "The new mirrors are a great thing. They help the children to experience and get to know themselves."
