In order to slow down the spread of the coronavirus in Germany, the federal and state governments are largely shutting down public life from tomorrow, Wednesday 16 December. This will also affect Stadtwerke Gießen (SWG). An overview of the new regulations.

Due to the high coronavirus figures, Germany will go into lockdown again from Wednesday, 16 December. As a result, Stadtwerke Gießen (SWG) is also restricting its services. The regulations in detail: Customer service in the foyer of SWG's head office in Lahnstraße will be closed from tomorrow until at least 10 January 2021. The same applies to customer service and energy advice on the upper floor of the SWG customer centre on Marktplatz.
This means that cash payments will no longer be possible until further notice. "We are asking customers who want to pay instalments or outstanding invoice amounts to simply issue us with a SEPA mandate or conveniently transfer the amount," explains Matthias Acker, deputy company spokesperson at SWG. SWG accepts relocation notifications or changes to instalments on its service number 0800 23 02 100. If you can manage without advice, you can use SWG's online service. The online service is available at www.stadtwerke-giessen.de/onlineservice.
"Despite the current lockdown, we are still available for our customers and can help them as usual on the phone, by email or via WhatsApp," emphasises Matthias Acker. SWG can be reached via these channels Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m:
Service number: 0800 23 02 100
E-mail: info@stadtwerke-giessen.de
WhatsApp: 0151 15213066 (only for WhatsApp messages, please do not call)

Mobility centre still available
The RMV Mobility Centre will remain open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. until 23 December, as long as the legal situation does not change. After that, the mobility centre will close until at least 3 January 2021. Unlike during the first lockdown in March, it will still be possible to buy tickets on the bus. Buses will also continue to run according to the regular timetable. Wearing a face mask on the buses and at bus stops is of course still mandatory.
If you have any questions, please contact the mobility centre in Giessen on 0641 708-1400 or by email at mobizentrale@stadtwerke-giessen.de. If there are any changes to the timetable, SWG will inform you as soon as possible - via the press and on its website www.swg-verkehr.de.

Pools remain closed
The Ringallee bathing centre, the Westbad and the Pohlheim indoor pool, which had to close at the beginning of November, will remain closed until at least 10 January 2021.
