State road between Launsbach and Wißmar closed

The carriageway surface of the country road between Launsbach and Wißmar is being repaired. It will therefore be completely closed from Monday, 20 September until probably 15 October. SWG bus routes 800 and 801 will be diverted during this time. This also affects the booster bus on route 801, which is mainly used by schoolchildren.

During the closure, routes 800 and 801 will run from the "Linde" stop in Launsbach via Ludwig-Rinn-Straße, Schaal and the "Mittelmark" stop to Wißmar and the "Krofdorfer Straße" stop. The route then continues via Pfarrstraße, Am Bürgerhaus and In der Wiese back to Krofdorfer Straße in the direction of the final stop "Auf der Heide".

This means that the "Ortszentrum" stop in Launsbach and the "Katholische Kirche", "Launsbacher Straße", "Holz+Technik-Museum", "Ruttershausener Straße", "Evangelische Kirche" and "Krofdorfer Straße" stops in Wißmar will be omitted. An alternative stop has been set up for the "Evangelische Kirche" stop in the street Am Bürgerhaus. The "Krofdorfer Straße" stop will be replaced by an alternative stop "In der Wiese". The journey times at the replacement stops correspond to those at the regular stops.

The additional bus on route 801, which mainly takes schoolchildren from Wißmar, 7.08 a.m. Catholic Church stop, to Giessen, is also affected by the diversion. In the direction of Giessen, it will stop at the replacement stops "Am Bürgerhaus" and "In der Wiese" in Wißmar and then take the regular route to the "Auf der Heide" stop. Pupils taking the bus to Landgraf-Ludwigs-Gymnasium in Giessen are not affected by the diversion.

"Unfortunately, due to the longer journey times caused by the diversion, we are unable to set up replacement stops for the cancelled stops," says Anne Müller-Kreutz, Head of Local Transport at Stadtwerke Gießen. "We ask our passengers for their understanding if they temporarily have to take longer journeys or if not everything runs according to plan during the closure."
