Due to a full closure in Alter Steinbacher Weg, SWG has to run lines 18 and 801 in Giessen via an alternative route.
Due to work on a gas pipeline, there is a full closure in Alter Steinbacher Weg. This roadworks will affect bus routes 18 and 801. From the start of service on 21 October, buses will be diverted in both directions from the "Berliner Platz" stop. The diversion route runs via Ludwigstraße, Bismarckstraße and Schiffenberger Weg to the "Philosophikum" stop. Line 18 will also run in the "Philosophikum" direction via Schiffenberger Weg. This alternative route means that the "Nahrungsberg" stop on Licher Straße and the "Ostschule" stop on Alter Steinbacher Weg will have to be cancelled. In addition, the buses will not be able to call at the "Pistorstraße" terminus during this period. Alternatively, routes 18 and 801 will serve the "Sandkauter Weg" stop in Schiffenberger Weg in both directions. The "Philosophikum" stop will temporarily become the final stop.
The diversion is expected to be in place until Saturday 28 October, which means that it will be in place during the autumn holidays.
