Around 80 young footballers have been training at the summer football camp of the Junior Football Academy Mittelhessen since Monday 18 July. Stadtwerke Gießen is supporting the multi-day training camp at the sports grounds in Pohlheim-Garbenteich. Between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m., the 6- to 15-year-old boys and girls spend a week honing their technique and improving their shot on goal. "Our experienced coaches have put together a very special training programme for goalkeepers," explained Karl-Otto Mank from the Junior Football Academy Mittelhessen at the opening of the summer football camp. As demand was particularly high last year, there will be a second date for another group of young footballers in 2011. The next round starts on 25 July and will once again focus on dribbling techniques, coordination exercises and exciting games.
