From Wednesday, 26 May 2004, the departure of bus lines 1, 10 A, 11, 24, 33 and 220 at the double stop Johanneskirche in the direction of Berliner Platz will be rearranged. According to Stadtwerke Gießen AG (SWG) in consultation with Regionalverkehr Kurhessen (RKH), this measure is intended to improve safety, especially when passenger numbers are high.
In future, lines 1, 10 A, 11, 24 and 33 will depart from the stop at the traffic lights. Only route 220 will in future depart from the rear stop, in front of the entrance to the Versorgungsamt. In future, passengers will be able to stand directly at the bus stop and will no longer have to wait to see which bus will arrive first.
The bus stop was particularly busy at lunchtime due to school traffic. Pupils and other passengers waited for the arriving buses before heading towards their bus. Due to this situation, it quickly becomes confusing at the bus stop.
Stadtwerke would like to point out that the two stops will be signposted accordingly for passengers.
