Since the beginning of July, it has been travelling on various routes in Giessen and the surrounding area - the official stattAuto bus of Stadtwerke Giessen AG (SWG). The motto of the collaboration between stattAuto Gießen e.V. and Stadtwerke Gießen is "We co-operate - you benefit". Manfred Siekmann, CEO of SWG, and Anne Müller-Kreutz, Head of Commercial Local Transport at SWG, presented the new bus together with Thilo Springer-Greve, who is responsible for stattAuto.
The fact that the city bus with the stattAuto emblem travels through the university city every day is a sign of the good co-operation. Last year, Stadtwerke already entered into a co-operation with stattAuto in order to offer its passengers convenient, tailor-made mobility.
Car-Sharing is an ideal supplement to local public transport for all journeys that cannot be made by bus. Holders of annual passes from the Rhein-Main-Verkehrsverbund (RMV) benefit from particularly favourable conditions for Car-Sharing. Anyone who opts for this modern form of car sharing has a car for the time they need it. The stattAuto vehicles are available to users by the hour, day or week, exactly as required. Car-Sharers can choose between vehicles ranging from city runabouts to vans. To be able to use this modern alternative to owning a car, interested parties sign a contract with the Car-Sharing provider. Anyone with an RMV annual travelcard pays a one-off registration fee of 100 euros. Car-Sharers do not incur any further costs, such as a monthly fee or deposit. Annual pass customers only pay for the service they actually use. The travel costs for the customer are made up of a time and kilometre price. The petrol costs are already included.
